1. Delivery cost and destinations
We currently deliver within the European Union. Shopify calculates delivery from the destination and quantity and shows the rate before you commit to payment. The storefront bag therefore shows the goods subtotal, not a made-up delivery charge or final total.
There are no handling or packing fees added later by Second Language. Any destination restriction appears before payment. If checkout cannot accept an address, do not use a forwarding or false address; email us and we will tell you honestly whether delivery is possible.
Orders are sent in protective flat packaging suited to the number of shirts in the order. More than one parcel may be used where the fulfilment provider needs to split an order. A split made by us does not create another delivery charge.
2. Printing, dispatch, and timing
Every shirt is printed after you order it in Germany. Production and dispatch can take up to 10 days. Allow 7–17 business days in total from order confirmation to delivery within the EU. The checkout should quote the same total window.
Business days do not include weekends or public holidays in the places involved in printing or delivery. The estimate can move during peak periods, severe weather, carrier disruption, or customs and border disruption. We will not describe an estimate as a guaranteed date.
If you need the shirt for a particular day, ask before ordering. We will tell you whether the timing looks realistic, but an event date is not agreed unless we confirm it expressly in writing.
3. Tracking, delays, and missing parcels
Tracking has not yet been confirmed for the available delivery service, so we do not promise it. If a carrier makes tracking available for your order, the dispatch message will include the details.
If the estimated window has passed, check the delivery address and any carrier update you received, then email contact@wearsecondlanguage.com with your order number. We will investigate with the fulfilment provider or carrier rather than send you in circles.
If a parcel cannot be proved delivered, we remain responsible for getting the goods to you. We will arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate. If delivery is delayed beyond the agreed time, the cancellation and refund rights given by applicable consumer law remain available.
For a parcel marked delivered but not found, check with people at the address and the carrier’s delivery note, then contact us promptly. That lets us open a carrier investigation while the delivery record is still fresh.
4. Changing or cancelling before dispatch
Email us as soon as possible if the design, size, quantity, or address is wrong. Production can begin quickly. We will make the change if we reasonably can, but cannot promise it once the order has entered production or dispatch.
If we cannot stop or change it, your ordinary 14-day right to withdraw after delivery still applies. Printed-to-order does not by itself remove that right because the listed designs are not personalised for you.
5. Change-of-mind and size returns
You may withdraw from an online order within 14 days after receiving it, without giving a reason. If one order arrives in separate parcels, the period starts when the last item arrives.
- Before the 14-day period ends, email contact@wearsecondlanguage.com with a clear statement that you want to withdraw. Include your name and order number.
- We will reply with practical packing instructions. Send the return to: Ralfs Ozolins, Second Language, Bauwenberg 17, 1970 Wezembeek-Oppem, Belgium.
- Send the goods within 14 days after telling us. Keep the postage receipt or other proof of dispatch until the refund is complete.
You pay the direct return postage for a change-of-mind or wrong-size return. There is no restocking fee. You may handle and try on a shirt as you would in a physical shop. Avoid wearing it beyond that, washing it, adding scent, staining it, or damaging the print. We may reduce the refund only for loss in value caused by handling beyond what was necessary to inspect it.
The statutory right of withdrawal is separate from the faulty-goods rights below. Returning a faulty, damaged, or incorrect shirt does not become your postage bill.
6. Refunds
For a valid withdrawal, we refund the price paid for the returned goods and the cost of our least expensive standard outbound delivery. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, the extra part is not refundable unless the service itself was faulty.
The refund is due within 14 days after we receive your withdrawal notice. We may wait until we receive the goods back or you provide evidence that they were sent, whichever happens first. We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree to another method, and we do not charge a refund fee.
Banks and payment providers may take additional time to show a completed refund. If it has not appeared after the provider’s normal processing window, email us and we will trace it.
7. Misprinted, faulty, damaged, or incorrect items
If a shirt arrives misprinted, faulty, damaged, or different from what you ordered, tell us within 30 days. Send your order number, a short description, and a clear photograph where a picture helps show the problem.
We will normally replace it free, including delivery, and you usually will not need to send the first one back. If replacement is not possible or is not the appropriate legal remedy, we will offer the price reduction or refund required by law. Necessary return postage for faulty or incorrect goods is ours to cover.
The 30-day reporting route is our quicker practical promise, not a limit on your legal rights. Goods sold to EU consumers carry a minimum two-year legal guarantee against a lack of conformity, and national law may provide longer protection.
Normal wear, accidental damage after delivery, damage caused by ignoring care instructions, or a preference change is not a manufacturing fault. We will still look at the facts rather than reject a request by label alone.
8. Exchanges
Because every shirt is printed to order, the cleanest size or design exchange is normally a return and a new order. Contact us first. We will confirm the current route, help avoid duplicate delivery costs where we reasonably can, and make sure a fault is handled as a fault rather than as a change-of-mind return.
If the replacement price differs because you choose a different quantity or product, the new order uses the price shown at that time. Your statutory refund for the original order is calculated separately.
9. Model withdrawal form
You can copy the text below into an email. The form is optional; any clear statement sent before the deadline is enough.
